A Sick and Twisted Interview with My Darkest Days

Sitting down with the guys from My Darkest Days made for one sick and twisted interview. Backstage on the 2012 Here & Now Tour, I caught up with the band to talk about their new record (Sick and Twisted Affair), the tour, Jagermeister, and much more. My Darkest Days are currently on a massive world tour with Nickelback, Seether, and Bush. All the guys were really stoked and honored to be apart of such a big line-up of bands that they’ve looked up as a young band. There’s a bit of a family vibe on this tour, as Nickelback lead singer/guitarist Chad Kroeger discovered MDD, and signed them to his record label, 604 Records.

The band told me that they had recently shot the video for the album’s title track and second single, and it was due out soon. When talking about the record as a whole, lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Matt Walst said, “I think this one is a little bit heavier. On this record we wanted more rock and less ballad.” As for upcoming tour plans, the guys said there’s a good possibility that a Three Days Grace/My Darkest Days tour could happen in the coming months!

My Darkest Days are one of the biggest up-and-coming hard rock acts around. They’re debut album, My Darkest Days, hit #38 on the Billboard Top 200. It produced the hit single, “Pornstar Dancing,” which featured a shredding guest guitar solo courtesy of Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society, Ozzy Osbourne). The song went gold in Canada. The band released the much-anticipated follow up, Sick and Twisted Affair, back in March and it debuted at #29 on the Billboard Top 200. If it’s a sick and twisted time you’re looking for, grab a copy of the new record and catch My Darkest Days on tour. CRANK IT UP!
