The concerts are rumored to take place at the end of June.
Foo Fighters are reportedly playing an epic pair of shows at New York City’s legendary Madison Square Garden at the end of June. The concerts are being advertised with posters plastered around the city that read “Rock and Roll Returns to The Garden June 2021.” A website of the same name can be seen HERE.
It is Foo Fighters who are bringing the rock and roll back to the garden. The rock giants are set to play back-to-back shows on June 20 and 21 with very special guests Queens of the Stone Age and The Rolling Stones’ frontman Mick Jagger.
There are also plenty of clues on Madison Square Garden’s official instagram account @thegarden HERE. One is a shot of Foo Fighters members Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins, with the caption “New York, New York.”, while the other is the poster that reads “Rock and Roll Returns to The Garden June 2021.”
The same photo of Grohl and Hawkins has also appeared on the Foos’ official social media, with the caption, “Start spreading the news…” which is a quote from Frank Sinatra’s famous tune, “New York, New York.”
So far, no further details have been posted on the Foo Fighters or Madison Square Garden websites, but ticket sale details are expected to be released in the next 24 hours.
Back in April, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl collaborated with Mick Jagger on the song “Eazy Sleazy” which can be streamed below.
Foo Fighters recently announced a string of 2021 tour dates celebrating their 26th anniversary as a band, since their milestone 25th anniversary was cancelled last year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to headlining shows, Foo Fighters will also be performing at Lollapalooza, Boston Calling, Bonaroo Music + Arts Festival, and Bottle Rock Festival.
