Act of Defiance kicked off their spring headlining tour at the Brick By Brick in San Diego, California on March 1, 2018. If you don’t already know, Act of Defiance is a Los Angeles metal band made up of former members of Megadeth, Scar The Martyr and Shadows Fall. They have produced two outstanding albums full of aggression and dynamic flourishes, “Birth and the Burial” and “Old Scars, New Wounds”. All of this talent was on full display during a headlining set at San Diego’s top metal venue.
Henry Derek is one of the rare vocalists who can deliver clean vocals and growls with equal skill. Bassist Matt Bachand brings a guitar player’s approach to his 5-string bass, riffing along with the fast-paced music. Shawn Drover is well known as an amazing drummer, blending speed and intricate fills, without missing a beat. Chris Broderick is quite simply a guitar god. If you were to sculpt a statue of rock guitarist, Broderick would be at the top of your short list for models. If you were to then animate your creation to demonstrate the technique and skill necessary to perform metal, again Chris is your guy.
You don’t often get a chance to experience world-class musicians in a club setting, so if you are lucky enough to be close to a show, get out there and have your face melted. The three-week trek commenced in San Diego, California on March 1st and concludes in Fresno, California on March 24th. Support is provided by Shattered Sun. Additionally, ACT OF DEFIANCE will join Armored Saint on the previously announced Symbol Of Salvation tour this summer. See all confirmed dates below.
