Guitarist Zakk Wylde has pretty much done is all. From touring and recording with music icon Ozzy Osbourne, to putting together his own chart-topping band, and even creating his own coffee, there isn’t much the legendary shredder hasn’t achieved. Now, he can add curating his own festival to the list.

Wylde announced Monday the Berzerkus, a one-day jaunt slated for Saturday, September 14. The festival will take place at Poconos Park in Bushkill, Pennsylvania. The lineup features Wylde’s band Black Label Society, as well as Clutch, Rival Sons, Black Stone Cherry, and outlaw country star Cody Jinks. Additionally, tribute acts for Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, and Iron Maiden will also be taking the stage.

Check out the full lineup and preview video below.

“Poconos Park is honored to work with Zakk Wylde to host BERZERKUS in the Poconos,” exclaims Poconos Park/From The Roots CEO John M. Oakes. “Integrating Zakk’s vision and passions into a fan-focused festival experience is going to be fun for all who attend.”

Last summer, Zakk Wylde hit the road with Pantera. The group – Phil Anselmo, Rex Brown, Charlie Benante (Anthrax), and Wylde – mounted their first proper headlining tour in over 20 years. The run started on July 28 at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania just outside of Pittsburgh. Revisit our review and live photos HERE

This week, Pantera are returning to the road for more North American arena shows with very special guests Lamb of God.

Wylde recently wrapped up lengthy run with his Black Sabbath tribute band, Zakk Sabbath.

In addition to his never-ending touring schedule, Wylde is keeping busy working on a new Black Label Society album. The group’s last album was 2021’s Doom Crew Inc. It featured the hit single “Set You Free,” the fast-paced rocker “Destroy & Conquer,” and the heavy groover “Forsaken.” It was the band’s eleventh studio effort. Back in May, Zakk offered fans an update from the studio.

“Greetings, Berzerkers,” the note began. “As you can see, Black Label Society is hard at work on the studio working on a new album and somehow there’s enough hours in the day for Zakk Wylde to break skulls with Pantera.”

Rock mainstays Clutch released their thirteenth studio album Sunrise on Slaughter Beach in September of 2022. The record hit No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums chart. It was the long awaited follow-up to their 2018 outing Book of Bad Decisions.

Last year, Rival Sons released a pair of albums – DARKFIGHTER and LIGHTBRINGER. The toured in support the albums extensively, scoring special guest spots with Greta Van Fleet and The Smashing Pumpkins. This summer, the band is slated to perform at several festivals around the globe including Sweden Rock Festival (Sweden), Graspop Metal Meeting (Belgium), and Hellfest (France). On July 11, they will serve as special guests for ZZ Top at the OVO Arena Wembley in London, UK.

Black Stone Cherry released their latest LP Screamin’ At the Sky on September 29 through Mascot Label Group. The record is anchored by the lead single, “Nervous.” The album is available on CD, vinyl, and digital download. A limited edition blue vinyl box set is also available, which includes a poster, record slipcover, black and white lithograph, and autographed band member cards.

While he’s now a country singer, Cody Jinks started his career as the lead singer of the Fort Worth, Texas thrash metal outfit, Unchecked Aggression. He was with the group from 1998 until 2003. His breakout solo album, 2016’s I’m Not the Devil, reached No. 4 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, while a number of other albums such as Lifers, After the Fire, and The Wanting, all peaked at No. 2. Jinks’ forthcoming studio effort, Change the Game, is slated to arrive on March 22.
