He just skipped right past the merch booth
There’s nothing quite like being front row to watch your favorite band. At a festival, it’s all about being there first. Sure, you could watch other acts throughout the day and take your chances on getting a good spot later – or you could spring to the main stage as soon as the gates open and wait for hours until they come on. The latter is exactly what “Metallica Man” did when the gates opened at Lollapalooza 2022 at 11:00am. In a video shared by NBC Sports Chicago, a fan sprinted across the festival grounds to the main stage where the mighty Metallica would be headlining hours later at 8:15pm. Watch the full video below.
Now, that’s a die-hard ‘Tallica fan. He definitely skipped the merch booth, though. But, we cannot confirm or deny if Metallica Man ended up getting a poster.
Metallica performed later that evening, ripping through classics including “Whiplash,” and “Creeping Death” plus rarities like “Dirty Window” and “The Memory Remains.” The band will continue with a string of U.S. tour dates next month.
