The band returns to North America this fall to celebrate their seminal debut
The Darkness are returning to North America this fall to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their seminal debut album Permission to Land. The tour kicks off on October 3 at The Masonic in San Francisco and wraps up on October 22 at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. The run will see the band perform in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago, Detroit, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and more.
Ticket pre-sale begins today, Tuesday, June 6 at 12pm local time. General tickets go on sale this Friday, June 9 at 10am HERE. VIP Experience ticket upgrades will be available across all shows.
“When Permission to Land landed, twenty short years ago, we were bathed in shock and awe,” frontman Justin Hawkins recalls. “As if by magic, rock wasn’t dead! Fun wasn’t banned! And Spandex was almost acceptable again. Well, guess what? Twenty years on, the same rules apply. So please to squeeze yourselves into those inappropriate leggings, back-comb your mullet, splash on a big handful of attitude, and come celebrate with us! We promise everything and we deliver, every time. Bring on the next twenty! The Darkness. The best. For you. Forever.”
In addition to playing Permission To Land in full, the band will pump out a bonus “Best of the Rest” set featuring all the hits and fan favorites from The Darkness’ six subsequent studio albums.
A special expanded Permission To Land deluxe album version called Permission To Land…Again is due out this fall on Warner Music.
