The star-studded song is from the Guns N’ Roses guitarist’s forthcoming LP ‘Orgy of the Damned’
Guitar icon Slash is back. The Guns N’ Roses six-stringer announced Friday his forthcoming solo album, Orgy of the Damned. It is the highly anticipated follow-up to his self-title 2010 album. The record, which arrives on May 17 through Gibson Records, will be comprised of covers of Slash’s favorite blues songs. The lead single, a cover of Howlin’ Wolf’s “Killing Floor,” features AC/DC’s Brian Johnson on vocals, and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler on harmonica. Slash hasn’t released a true solo album since 2010. Since then, he has been recording and touring as Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators. Starting with 2012’s Apocalyptic Love, the group has released four studio albums and toured significantly. Their last release, 2022’s 4, hit No. 1 on the UK’s Rock & Metal Albums chart. While the group has enjoyed much success, their biggest commercial achievement remains their 2012 debut, which hit No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the UK’s Rock & Metal Albums chart and Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums.
Slash’s 2010 self-titled LP featured original songs written by the guitarist. The record was stacked with special guest appearances by rock royalty including Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, M. Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Chris Cornell (Soundgarden), Lemmy Kilmister (Mötorhead), and more. For this upcoming release, Slash collaborated once again with storied producer Mike Clink. In addition to Brian Johnson and Steven Tyler, Slash enlisted the likes of Gary Clark Jr, Billy F. Gibbons (ZZ Top), Chris Stapleton, Dorothy, Iggy Pop, Paul Rodgers (Bad Company), Demi Lovato, Tash Neal (The London Souls), Chris Robinson (The Black Crowes), and Beth Hart to perform on the album.

To round out his band in the studio and on the road, Slash reunited with two of his bandmates from his Blues Ball outfit in the 90s, bassist Johnny Griparic and keyboardist Teddy Andreadis, and brought on drummer Michael Jerome and singer/guitarist Tash Neal.
Recently, Slash lent his talents to The Dandy Warhols’ new single, “I’d Like to Help You with Your Problem.” The Guns N’ Roses guitarist lets it rip in the preview of The Dandy Warhols’ forthcoming album, Rockmaker, which arrives on March 15. In addition to Slash, the upcoming Rockmaker also features appearances by Pixies’ Black Francis and Blondie’s Debbie Harry.
This summer, Brian Johnson and AC/DC are returning to the road for the first since 2016. The massive run is a celebration of the hard rock hitmakers’ 50th anniversary, and their first time supporting their latest album on tour. The global trek begins with a run across Europe this summer, starting at Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on 17 May. The Power Up Tour will see the group performing in Spain, Austria, Belgium, France, the UK, and more.
Due to overwhelming demand, second shows have been added in Seville, Spain, Dresden, Germany, and Hannover, Germany.
More dates around the world are expected to be announced very soon.
While bassist Cliff Williams has retired from touring, the band has confirmed that Chris Chaney (ex-Jane’s Addiction, Alanis Morissette) will be joining them on tour. Another alumnus of Alanis’s band – drummer Matt Laug – will once again be performing with AC/DC on the upcoming run of dates. Laug made his debut with AC/DC at Power Trip back in October. Laug is a storied rock music drummer, having done stints with Alice Cooper, Mike Campbell and The Dirty Knobs, and Slash’s first solo project – Slash’s Snakepit.
After previously postponing the rest of their September shows as part of their Peace Out Tour, Aerosmith have been forced to push all dates to 2024. Frontman Steven Tyler sustained a fractured larynx during the band’s performance at UBS Arena on September 9, and the recovery is taking much longer than expected.
“To our fans: unfortunately, Steven’s vocal injury is more serious than initially thought,” the band said in a statement. “His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx which requires ongoing care. He is receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure his recovery is swift, but given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential. As a result, all the currently scheduled Peace Out shows must be postponed to sometime in 2024, with new dates to be announced as soon as we know more.”
“I am heartbroken to not be out there with Aerosmith, my brothers and the incredible Black Crowes, rocking with the best fans in the world,” Steven Tyler stated. “I promise we will be back as soon as we can!”
The band’s Peace Out Tour is their final 40-date trek across North America, bringing their storied career to a close. The tour kicked off on September 2 at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. It was slated to wrap up on January 26, 2024 at Centre Bell in Montreal, before the band was forced to reschedule a bulk of the shows to the end of the run. The Black Crowes are serving as special guests for the entire tour.
