The band’s forthcoming eighth album arrives in October
Of Mice & Men have shared another new song “Castaway.” The track is the second single from their forthcoming album Tether, which arrives on October 6 via SharpTone. For the music video, the band once again teamed up with director Mark Lediard, who directed the clip for the previously released lead single “Warpaint.“ Watch the official video for “Castaway” below now, which features actress Bridget Marumo from the television series Casualty.
“‘Castaway’ is about longing for connection with the people in our lives who tend to distance themselves when dealing with hardships, and how our inability to help them often feels like we’re frozen in time,” the band says.
This time around, Southern California quartet self-produced and engineered all of the songs on Tether. Bassist and vocalist Aaron Pauley mixed and mastered the album. Drummer Valentino Arteaga designed and painted the album’s artwork.
“With this one, we weren’t really focused on how it sounded, as much as we focused on how it felt,” Pauley explains. “And that’s a weird thing to do when all you’re working with is sound. But that was really the goal. And we walked away from making it, feeling like we’ve accomplished that.”
The album will be available on CD, blue and pink splattered vinyl, and digital download. Fans can pre-order physical versions now HERE.
In the fall, Of Mice & Men are hitting the road with Bullet For My Valentine and Vended. The trek begins on October 8 at Mtelus in Montreal, Quebec and wraps up on November 10 at Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Florida. The tour will see the band perform in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Antonio, Dallas, and more.
In 2021, Of Mice & Men released their last album Echo. Produced by the band themselves, Echo spawned six singles. It marked the band’s first release via SharpTone after their departure from Rise Records.
