The trek now begins on August 20 in Oklahoma City
My Chemical Romance have added several shows to their highly-anticipated 2022 reunion tour. Newly announced stops include San Antonio, Nashville, Cincinnati, Toronto, Boston, Portland, and more. Tickets for the new gigs will go on sale this Friday, March 11 HERE.
The trek was originally slated to start in September of 2020, but was postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are deeply sad, but those emotions are only a fraction of the depth of feeling we have all experienced watching the suffering and loss of the past year,” My Chemical Romance said in a statement Friday. “We just want to be as sure as we can be that everyone is safe. Refunds will be offered to anyone who wants them. We are sorry if this is disappointing, and we really can’t wait to see you in 2022.”
In addition to the group’s headlining tour dates, My Chemical Romance are slated to headline Aftershock Festival and Riot Fest this fall as well.
“My Chemical Romance is done. But it can never die,” frontman Gerard Way said in a statment in 2013. “It is alive in me, in the guys, and it is alive inside all of you. I always knew that, and I think you did too. Because it is not a band—it is an idea.”
My Chemical Romance’s last studio effort was 2010’s Danger Days: True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. The disc peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200, and No. 1 on Billboard Rock Albums and Alternative Albums charts.
