The embattled original members have apparently been litigation for some time
Live frontman Ed Kowalczyk has taken a controlling interest in the band. The singer announced on Tuesday via Instagram that he now owns 55% of Live. Additionally, guitarist and founding member Chad Taylor has been fired from the group.
“As of last evening, I control 55% of Live,” Kowalczyk said on social media. “Chad Taylor is fired. He will never stop the music again. Thank you to all for your amazing love and support. I cried multiple times yesterday reading your comments and messages – it really means the world to me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
In 2009, Kowalczyk left the band. In 2016, he reunited with Live and the group released a new EP Local 717 two years later. Since then, the band has been touring non-stop and were reportedly working on a new studio LP.
