Jeff Beck, guitar icon who influenced generations of guitarists after him, has passed away. The news was confirmed on his official social media. He was 78.
On behalf of his family, it is with deep and profound sadness that we share the news of Jeff Beck’s passing. After suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis, he peacefully passed away yesterday. His family ask for privacy while they process this tremendous loss.
Jeff Beck broke out at the guitarist of The Yardbirds. Throughout his career, he garnered seven GRAMMY® Award. He won six times for Best Rock Instrumental Performance, and once for Best Pop Instrumental Performance. The guitar virtuoso was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992 as a member of The Yardbirds, and again in 2009 as a solo artist.
