“Writing about yourself is a funny business…But in a project like this, the writer has made one promise, to show the reader his mind. In these pages, I’ve tried to do this,” Springsteen states in Born To Run. Bruce and the E Street Band’s performance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2009 served as a catalyst to start writing about his experiences. Over the last seven years, Springsteen has been diligently putting his life on paper. From his humble beginnings in Freehold, NJ, seeing Elvis Presley perform on The Ed Sullivan Show, wild nights at The Stone Pony is Asbury Park to record-setting stadium shows, its all here in Bruce’s magnum opus.
