The band didn’t play a single show in support of their last album ‘Carnivore.’
Body Count have begun work on a brand new studio album called Merciless. The album is set to released via Century Media. News of the band’s forthcoming seventh studio outing was revealed Tuesday on the band’s official Instagram account.
“Even though we have not been able to perform one single concert to support the ‘Carnivore’ album because of the Global Pandemic, we’ve made the decision to fficially start the new BC [Body Count] album Merciless 2021,” the band said in a statement. “Stay tuned.”
Body Count released their sixth album Carnivore on March 6, 2020 – on the brink of the global COVID-19 pandemic that would see the live music industry shut down for over a year. The outing was one of the band’s best, cracking the Top 50 on the Billboard 200 and Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums chart. The single “Bum-Rush” garnered Body Count the GRAMMY Award for Best Metal Performance, marking the band’s first GRAMMY win.
