The band’s hit-filled catalog is showing so much endurance
Rock icons Def Leppard kicked off The World Tour last night at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The seasoned hit-makers took the stage to shake some rust off before heading to Mexico later this month. After their wildly successful Stadium Tour last summer, both acts decided to take the show around the globe. After just a few months off, Def Leppard stepped back onto the stage and did what they do best at this point – rip though chart-topping hits and arena rock anthems.
The band is continuing to push its latest studio album Diamond Star Halos which arrived last May via UMe. They wasted to time pulling from the new material, kicking off their set with “Take What You Want.” They also broke out two more tracks from the record – “This Guitar” and the lead single “Kick.”
This year, the band is celebrating the 40th anniversary of their landmark LP Pyromania. The band dropped “Foolin'” early in the set, and they brought the show to a close with back-to-back bangers “Rock of Ages” and “Photograph.”
At this point in their career, every song at a Def Leppard show is a banger.
Despite 2023 marking four decades of Pyromania, it was the band’s 1987 diamond-certified crown jewel Hysteria that spent the most time in the spotlight. The first was “Animal,” which is unmistakable from the very first note. The crowd immediately erupted. The band proceeded to let loose five more tracks from the record, including its title track.
Other highlights included “Let’s Get Rocked,” “Promises,” “Rocket,” “Bringin’ on the Heartbreak,” “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” and more.

After one more warm-up show at the Seminole Hard Rock in Florida, Def Leppard and officially begin their trek around the globe with Mötley Crüe on February 18 at Foro Sol in Mexico City, Mexico. After the South American run, both bands will reconvene in Sheffield, United Kingdom to begin their European run at Bramall Lane. In addition to their own headlining dates, both bands are slated to perform at some of the world’s biggest rock music festivals including Sweden Rock Festival, Finland RockFest, COPENHELL in Denmark, and Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium.
This summer, a select few U.S. dates have been confirmed with very special guest Alice Cooper.
