Finding Equilibrium with Doc Coyle of God Forbid
Equilibrium is not an easy thing to find. God Forbid seem to have found it on their latest album, of that very name. God Forbid have expanded there sound on Equilibrium, with tightly-written songs that pack a powerful punch both lyrically and musically. God Forbid have been grinding in the metal underground since 1996. The new record has shed some more limelight on the band. The guys are currenty touring on The Electric Age U.S. Tour with Overkill, and they recently announced a supporting spot on the massive 2012 Trespass America Festival, featuring a brutal line-up of Five Finger Death Punch, Killswitch Engage, Trivium, and many more.
I caught up with lead guitarist Doc Coyle backstage on the kick-of stop of The Electric Age Tour, just a few days before they made the big announcement. He couldn’t tell me at the time, but he said it was going to be “huge” and that they band was “really excited about it.” Doc and I also got a chance to talk about the new record, and how they choose a live set-list. Lot’s of big things coming your way this summer from God Forbid, so be sure to get your tickets and get ready to band your F’in heads all summer long! CRANK IT UP!
