Groove metal pioneers Prong, led by Tommy Victor on guitar and vocals, played the Brick By Brick in San Diego, California on April 8, 2018. With Art Cruz behind the drums and Mike Longworth back on bass and backing vocals, they were in fine form throughout an intense, aggressive set. Dedicated fans got to experience three decades of thrash in an intimate setting.
Opening for Prong was Powerflo, a new metal band formed by members of Cypress Hill, Fear Factory, Biohazard and Downset. Vocalist Senen “Sen Dog” Reyes had collaborated with lead guitarist Rogelio “Roy” Lozano, rhythm guitarist Billy Graziadei and bassist Christain Olde Wolbers before. In 2017 they released their debut album, and the material is very strong. The band is amazing live, true stage veterans who really gel together. Kyng drummer Pepe Clarke worked the drum kit, providing plenty of power.
