PEARL JAM, JOURNEY TO BE INDUCTED INTO ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME

Its official. Next year, Pearl Jam, Journey, Yes, and Electric Light Orchestra will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Rapper Tupac Shakur and folk singer Joan Baez round out the new class. The 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place next April at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. The ceremony will be broadcast later in 2017 on HBO.

Pearl Jam are receiving their nod in their first year of eligibility, with 2016 marking the 25th anniversary of their seminal debut album Ten. Journey have eight multi-platinum albums under their belt, and eighteen Top 40 singles. The band has sold nearly 100 million albums worldwide. Electric Light Orchestra have recorded twenty Top 40 singles. Yes have sold nearly 14 million albums worldwide. The progressive rockers are known for their wide array of musical styles. Their influence can be felt in bands like Dream Theater, Rush, Phish, Tool and many others.
