MUSE, METALLICA, KISS SET TO HEADLINE FESTIWALU ROCK IN VIENNA 2015

This year isn’t even over, yet the 2015 festival plans are already rolling out. This week, America’s World’s Loudest Month festival dates were announced for next year. Now, the 2015 Rock In Vienna Festival has confirmed headliners MuseMetallica, and KISS. Other featured acts include Limp BizkitBody Count feat. Ice-TIncubusFaith No More, Testament, and Arcane Roots. The festival is set to take place on June 4-6, 2015, in Vienna, Austria and more acts are to be announced in the coming months. Promoters have also promised a few big surprises for fans. Tickets for Rock In Vienna go on sale tomorrow, November 6 at 9am via RockInVienna.at and Ticketmaster.at.

Muse bandMuse was formed in 1994 by Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard and Chris Wolstenholme. Their previous five studio albums have sold over 15 million copies worldwide. The group’s last album, The Resistance, debuted at #3 on the Billboard Top 200, and hit #1 in 19 countries around the world. The album garnered the band the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album, and an American Music Award. In July 2012, Muse’s song “Survival” was adopted as the official song of the 2012 Olympic Games. The band is currently touring in continued support of their latest album, The 2nd Lawwhich was nominated for a Grammy Award. The album hit #2 on the Billboard Top 200, and it’s first single, “Madness”set the record for most consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard Alternative Chart. Muse just released their live CD/DVD, Live at Rome Olympic Stadiumback on December 2. Muse are rumored to be working on new music for their seventh studio album.

In a few weeks, Metallica will be setting up shop for a week-long residency on The Late Late Show withMetallica band 2014 Craig Ferguson on CBS to celebrate the final season of the show. The band issued a collective statement, saying, “We’re excited to celebrate Craig Ferguson’s final season on CBS as he has personally invited us to join him for an entire week of performances starting Monday, November 17th. We’ll be playing every night that week and on the first night (Monday) we’ll sit down with Craig to chat about all things ‘Tallica.” Metallica embarked on a massive world festival tour this summer, and are currently working on new music for their next album. The band will be releasing a 12″ vinyl of their new single “Lords of Summer” on November 28 for Record Store Day, and they will be releasing the live recordings from every 2014 show on CD and vinyl starting in November. The band is set to play The Concert for Valor in Washington, D.C. on November 11 alongside The Black Keys, Bruce Springsteen, Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), and others. Next year, the band will headline the first-ever American installment of Rock in Rio in Las Vegas, NV.

KISS are one of the most successful acts in music history, having sold over 100 million albums worldwide. The band broke into the mainstream in 1974 with their self-titled debut album. In 1977, the band won the People’s Choice Award for Best New Song for “Beth”. KISS were nominated for a Grammy Award in 1999 for Best Hard Rock Performance. From 1996-2000, the band garnered 16 Metal Edge Reader’s Choice Awards. KISS were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 10 at the Barclays Center in New York. The band was featured on the cover of Rolling Stone in April for the first time in their career in light of their induction into the Hall of Fame. KISS embarked on a massive tour this summer to celebrate their 40th Anniversary. They invited very special guests Def Leppard to join them on the trek.

Faith No More have confirmed that they are working on a brand new studio album. The disc is due out in 2015Faith No More band and will be the band’s first studio effort in 18 years. A limited edition 7″ vinyl single “Motherfucker” will be released on Record Store Day’s “Black Friday” event on November 28. Only 5,000 copies will be released, but the single will be released digitally on December 9. The band is working on the new material in Oakland, CA with bassist Bill Gould producing the project. The new album will be the very long-awaited follow-up to 1997’s Album of The Year which hit #40 on the Billboard Top 200. The band scored their biggest successes with 1989’s The Real Thing and 1992’s Angel Dust. Throughout their career, the band has sold over 10 million albums worldwide. They’ve been nominated for three Grammy Awards and five MTV Video Music Awards, winning in 1991 for Best Visual Effects in a Video for “Falling To Pieces”.Faith No more are set to co-headline Soundwave Festival alongside Slipknot and Soundgarden.

Limp Bizkit exploded with their sophomore effort, Significant Other, blasted them to super-stardom. The album hit #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and was certified platinum. Producing four hit singles, the album is still considered to be the band’s masterpiece. It’s follow-up, 2000’s Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and sold 1.5 million copies in it’s first week. The album has sold over 12 million copies worldwide. The band released three more LPs and a greatest hits compilation, and are currently recording a new studio album. The band also has plans to release an EP as well, The Unquestionable Truth (Part 2). The EP is in connection with their 2005 album The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1), an incredibly heavy outing that saw the band drift away from their trademark rap-rock sound and indulge in a sludgier, more alt-metal feel. After the release of 2011’s Gold Cobra, Limp Bizkit left their long-time label Interscope to sign with Cash Money Records. Throughout their career, Limp Bizkit have been nominated for three Grammy Awards and sold over 40 million albums worldwide. The band’s new album Stampede of The Disco Elephants is due out in 2015.

Incubus are officially working on their next album. Guitarist Mike Einziger posted a video on his Instagram ofIncubus band drummer Jose Pasillas tracking drums to a guitar hook. This comes as long-awaited good news for Incubus fans. The band’s last effort was 2011’s If Not Now, When? which debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200. In 2012, the band co-headlined Rock On The Range in Columbus, OH alongside Rob Zombie, Shinedown, and Marilyn Manson. Einzinger played guitar on the hugely successful Avicii-produced single “Wake Me Up” that featured Aloe Blacc on vocals in 2013. Vocalist Brandon Boyd was also active last year, releasing his new solo album Sons of The Sea. He toured in support of the album. Incubus are set to play Soundwave Festival this coming February in Australia. Throughout their career, Incubus have sold over 13 million albums worldwide.

Body Count were a featured act on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival this summer supporting their latest album Manslaughter. The disc dropped back in June via Sumerian Records, the band’s new label. Body Count are headlining the Sumerian Stage at Mayhem Fest this year, and the tour features label mates Asking Alexandria, Upon a Burning Body, Veil of Maya, and Darkest Hour. In our exclusive interview, Ice-T talked about the band’s return to the road and proving themselves worthy of being a featured act on the mighty Mayhem Festival.
