After a long 3-year break, pop-punk heroes Fall Out Boy announced today that they are back with a new album and tour for 2013. The new album, Save Rock and Roll, is due out on May 7 via Island Records. It is the band’s first studio effort since 2008’s Folie à Deux. Fall Out Boy will hit the road on May 14 to kick off their Save Rock and Roll U.S. Tour, which will take them to the end of June with more dates to be announced. The band released this note to fans when the announcement was made:

Fall Out Boy broke out with their 2005 album, From Under The Cork Tree. The disc debuted at #9 on the Billboard Top 200, giving the band it’s first Top 10 hit. The album produced two massive hit singles – “Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down” and “Dance, Dance” – and went on to be certified triple-platinum. In 2007, Fall Out Boy released their much-anticipated follow up, Infiniti On High, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and eventually went platinum. The band was ranked #93 on Billboard’s list of the Best Artists of The Decade: 2000-2010.
