Mayday Parade frontman Derek Sanders sat down with me for a few minutes backstage at Warped Tour 2012 to talk about what the Warped Tour means to him, and more. Mayday Parade are still touring off their 2011 self-titled album, which hit #12 on the Billboard Top 200. It was their first time working with their original producers again from their debut album, 2007’s A Lesson In Romantics. As far as new music goes, Derek said he has a lot of great ideas right now, and the band plans on beginning work on their next album sometime in early 2013. First, however, then band will be heading out on tour to the U.K., South America, U.S., and more post-Warped. – by Matt Bishop
