Rock music revolutionary Prince has died at the age of 57. The musician passed away today in his Paisley Park home studio in Minnesota. According to reports, Prince was hospitalized last week in Moline, IL. He was released a few hours later and continued to battle a bad case of the flu. Prince’s last piece of music was his 2014 album Art Artificial Age which debuted at #5 on the Billboard Top 200.

Prince is one of the most iconic solo artists of all time. His seminal 1984 album Purple Rain gave Prince his first #1 album on the Billboard Top 200. The record garnered two Grammy Awards and the coinciding film earned Prince an Oscar. To date, Prince has sold over 100 million album worldwide. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, his first year of eligibility. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Prince, his family, his friends, and his band. Thank you for all the amazing music and influencing generations of artists to come.
