Chris Cornell of Soundgarden Dies at 52

(TRR) Soundgarden frontman and iconic vocalist Chris Cornell died last night in Detroit. He was 52. His publicist Brian Bumbery confirmed the news, and in a statement that called the death “sudden and unexpected.” He added that Cornell’s family will be “working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause.”

Soundgarden were in the midst of a North American tour, with a headlining performance scheduled for this weekend alongside Metallica and Korn at Rock On The Range in Columbus, OH. Cornell’s final performance was last night at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, MI with Soundgarden.
